FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

These are my most frequently asked questions, paired with the answers! If you have any more, let me know and I will do my best to answer them for you. I hope you come away feeling super informed!

BEFORE YOUR WEDDING

HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL TO PHOTOGRAPH A WEDDING?

I am based in Sheffield but am not limited to where I will travel. There is a petrol fee of 0.45p per mile for locations outside of a 100 mile radius of Sheffield. If you would like me to shoot a destination wedding (yes please!) outside of the UK, please contact me to discuss further. 

HOW DO WE BOOK YOU?

Once you’ve decided to book with me I can send you a link to a private form on my website, which once filled out will give me all of the information that I’ll need for your wedding day. I can then create all of the official paperwork and contracts which will contain all the info you need for making your deposit payment.

DO WE NEED TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

Yes, the deposit to secure your booking is 20% of the total fee.

WHEN DO WE NEED TO PAY THE REMAINING BALANCE?

The remaining balance is owed 6 Weeks before your wedding day. You are more than welcome to pay in instalments though if that is more convenient.

ARE YOU INSURED?

Yes. Along with all of my equipment being covered, I also have Professional Indemnity and General Liability insurance.


ON THE DAY

HOW LONG DO YOU WORK ON THE WEDDING DAY?

Typically I will arrive around 3 hours before the ceremony begins, and will stay taking pictures up until at least 30 minutes after your first dance, which is usually at around 9pm. If these timings don’t work for you, or you require some extra time from me then just let me know.

DO YOU NEED FEEDING AT A WEDDING?

If possible, yes, I am very easy to cater for as I do not have any dietary requirements. I am always more than grateful if I am fed but also very happy to bring a pack-up if I need to. Some couples have been very generous and included me in their table plan next to Uncle Tony, I have been bought a pub meal at the bar, or even been provided with a pizza from the van. Either way I am flexible and happy to do what suits as long as I have somewhere to fuel up. I tend to eat when you eat. 

WHAT IF IT’S RAINING ON THE DAY?

Then we will work something out! There will either be a window where we can nip out for an outdoor shot, I will bring a umbrella or I will find a good spot in the dry comfort of your venue. Some of the best shots can be in bad weather so don’t worry!!! 

DO YOU HAVE BACKUP EQUIPMENT?

Yes, I always have additional cameras and lenses, along with extra batteries, memory cards, lighting gear, and anything else I think might come in handy on your wedding day

WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU ARE ILL AND CANT MAKE THE WEDDING?

This is very unlikely to happen, and hasn’t happened in the past.  I do have a contingency in place as I am a part of a network of like minded photographers who would be able to take the reigns if something out of the ordinary should happen. 


AFTER YOUR WEDDING

HOW LONG WILL IT TAKE FOR ME TO RECEIVE MY PICTURES AFTER THE WEDDING DAY?

I try to get all of your images edited and sent out within 4 to 6 weeks. If they are finished any earlier then they will be sent out straight away for you. I’ll also try to get a small sneak-peek of a few of your pictures sent over a few days after your wedding.

HOW MANY IMAGES WILL I RECEIVE?

This will depend on a few things such as how many hours of coverage you have or how many guests are at your wedding.  From a full days coverage you can expect between 300 – 500 photographs.

HOW WILL WE RECEIVE OUR WEDDING PICTURES?

Once the editing of your photographs has been finished I send them all out to you on a USB drive inside a beautiful presentation box which will contain 5 fine art prints. On that same day I upload your pictures to a private online gallery for you, friends, and family to be able to log in to see your photographs too.

HOW DO I KNOW MY PICTURES ARE SECURE WITH YOU?

I use two cameras and switch memory cards throughout the wedding day, and even start backing up on hard drives during your meal. Then as soon as I get home your pictures are backed up again onto 2 different hard drives, and are uploaded into cloud storage. These backups are kept for at least 12 months after your wedding, so you can be sure that your pictures are very safe and secure.
