Pheasantry Brewery Wedding
Back in June I was asked by an old friend of mine, Kieron if I would be part of a secret wedding that he and his partner Lauren were planning in the beautiful village of Retford. From the start of our conversation I knew this was going to be something special as he told me all about the plans the way only Kieron could. I jumped at the chance, I mean how more exciting does it get than been invited to capture a secret wedding?
My day started at the Best Western Hotel in Retford where I was greeted by Lauren and a freshly poured glass of Prosecco (nice). I normally start by just having a chat to the excited bride and bridesmaids to get them used to me being around. This helps them relax, knowing that I won’t be pointing my camera in their face every two seconds. I also like to get detailed shots of the dress and rings at this stage too.
I met up with Kieron, who was in fine form at the local pub. I can honestly say that I’ve never met a guy who laughs so much. After a couple of pints of Dutch courage it was on to the church to tie the knot.
As the guests started to arrive they still had no idea that they were attending a wedding. Lauren and Kieron had told everybody that they would be attending the christening of their daughter! (clever). It was only until the music started to play as Lauren walked down the isle that the penny dropped. The look on peoples faces was priceless!!
After the ceremony it was off to a cool new venue called the Pheasantry Brewery.
The Pheasantry Brewery is a unique venue located in East Markham, Newark, Nottinghamshire near the Lincolnshire border. This modern micro brewery set in the beautiful countryside is available the host weddings and other special occasions. The place looked amazing as I arrived, decorated with beautiful props provided by Pretty Little Extras. There was even a bouncy castle and space hoppers to keep the kids and grown up’s entertained for hours to come.
“It took us 12 weeks to plan this wedding and out of all the decisions we made getting you on board was the best. The snaps are perfect and capture the moments and emotions perfectly. Thank you so much.”
